Shortly after I left Las Vegas and settled in Barcelona, I had the opportunity to do share my knowledge and passion with the cast of TOTEM by Cirque du Soleil, dir. Robert Lepage for the entire length of their stay in Barcelona.

In my point of view, the term "Acrobat" shouldn't apply to Cirque du Soleil performers. The word is too weak!. Acrobats means "you go on stage, pull off a trick, get a clap and leave". Now days, Cirque du Soleil is asking their cast to play a situation, to create a story, to evoke emotions, to provoke their audience...not just "pull off a trick"!  The word "Acrobat" is too small. Monkeys are acrobats, dogs are acrobats!

 

Cirque du Soleil's performer's should be considered  "acrobatic actors"!

And this is where Bruno and I got along! That was our common vision, this is where we create a beautiful and productive collaboration.
